Sent on 2026-02-27

Hey devs,

The JavaScript devs don’t waste any time! Here’s what happened in the last week:

New Package: TanStack Hotkeys

A new TanStack package has been released.

TanStack Hotkeys is a useful library for handling keyboard shortcuts, sequences, shortcut recording, and much more.

It offers extremely useful hooks and utility functions that you can plug into your app.

And of course, it’s type-safe! Check out the docs here: https://tanstack.com/hotkeys/latest

Upcoming TanStack Package: Router Mobile

Tanner has been teasing the progress of an upcoming package that handles navigation in React Native.

It seems like the same API used in TanStack Router and Start could soon be powering mobile apps.

Another step toward merging the mental models of web and mobile development.

You can follow along with the progress in this X thread: https://x.com/tannerlinsley/status/2026177488834146584

Next.js Rebuilt by AI (in 1 Week!)

Probably one of the biggest recent news stories: Cloudflare rebuilt Next.js in one week using AI.

The new library, called vinext, offers the same NextJS API, but with a twist:

It uses Vite under the hood, which makes it easy to deploy on Cloudflare (as opposed to NextJS).

New in TanStack Start: Import Protection

TanStack Start’s biggest issue is finally solved.

Server-only code leaking into the client is now prevented.

There is now a built-in Import Protection feature that solves this problem.

It’s fully configurable and offers inline errors in the code editor. Check out the documentation here: https://tanstack.com/start/latest/docs/framework/react/guide/import-protection

P.S. I am launching a TanStack Start course that covers all the essential and advanced aspects of the library. If you’re interested, you can join the waitlist and save 20% on release: https://learntanstack.com
