Hey devs,
The TanStack ecosystem is thriving. Here’s what happened last week:
Creating a TanStack project just got much easier!
With TanStack Builder, you can configure all the packages you need in the browser and download your project.
The best part? You get to see the project code before downloading it.
It kind of reminds me of Spring Boot Initializr (Is that still a thing?).
Try it now: https://tanstack.com/builder
Supabase has just released its own shadcn-style blocks for TanStack Start.
Components include: Login, file uploads, realtime cursors, user avatar and live chat.
It's now easier than ever to create full stack web apps: https://supabase.com/ui/docs/tanstack/client
TanStack Start now makes it possible to
configure the fetch function, by using middlewares.
This allows you to add credentials, custom headers, or even retries.
For those interested, here’s the documentation: https://tanstack.com/start/latest/docs/framework/react/guide/middleware#custom-fetch-implementation
View transitions are one of the easiest ways to add smooth animations to your apps.
For a while, they were simply not supported by Firefox.. but not anymore!
This is great because TanStack Start and Router have a really intuitive API to take advantage of view transitions.
If you’re interested in how to use ViewTransitions with TanStack Router / Start, I made a video a while ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyKOB_xNXEY
