#5: Interactive TanStack DB, ShadcnUI Update & CSS Wrapped

Sent on 2025-12-15

Hey devs,

Over the last few days, something has changed in the TanStack community.

While I have been a believer in TanStack Start since day one, it seems like everyone is jumping on the TanStack Start train.

I am really happy to see others recognize how great TanStack Start is.

Now let's get to it:

Interactive Guide To TanStack DB

This blog post by Maxi Ferreira on Frontend At Scale has built-in interactive examples to understand TanStack DB.

It's one of the most fun blogs to read.

Shadcn + TanStack Start = ❤️

Shadcn UI just got a LOT better!

More components, more customizability and a better CLI that allows you to bootstrap TanStack Start projects in one command.

OrcDev made a video showing all of that, watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q83CfaMTajA

React Vulnerabilities

It's bittersweet to read about two additional vulnerabilities found in React.

On one hand, I'm happy that these are addressed. On the other hand, React's reputation may be negatively impacted.

Once again, these are related to React Server Components, and won't affect you if using TanStack Start.

T3Chat on TanStack Start

T3Chat is probably one of the biggest TanStack Start applications in production in terms of users.

The main reason behind the migration from NextJS to TanStack Start, reason seems to revolve around barely using NextJS features and debugging struggles.

CSS Wrapped 2025

The team at Chrome just released their yearly CSS Wrapped for 2025.

It includes cool new CSS features that were introduced in 2025.

I personally didn't know many of these CSS features, check it out here: https://chrome.dev/css-wrapped-2025
